NC Trip - Part One

Wednesday - We had a very long travel day to get to Tracy's house. It was about 12 hours of traveling. We live an hour and a half from SLC airport and she lives about 2 1/2 hours from the Raleigh airport, so it's car, aiport, plane, airport, plane, airport, car again. But, the kids did better than I expected and we made it to Tracy's house.

Her house and neighborhood are very nice and her home is perfect for guests. They have a master bedroom on the main floor and the upstairs and they chose to be upstairs, so we had a master suite on the main floor for our family. It was very nice and comfortable.
Thursday we went to Emerald Isle beach. It was very windy and the waves were huge. Hurricane Fay didn't really affect us, but that day they said it was from the hurricane. Something about high pressure meeting the coastal winds or something. It was fun, but we didn't really get in the ocean since the waves were too big. We decided to leave and go to their pool that her kids do swim team at. It was nice and the kids had a good time.
Isaac and Ally getting used to the ocean. It was their first experience (well Ally went at 4 months old) and they fell in love with it very quickly.

That night, we walked down to their neighborhood dock to the waterway. They don't live right on the ocean but they live on the waterway (from fresh water rivers) and it leads to the ocean. It's really cool!
