Reasons To BLOG

I found these quotes on my friend Kariann's BLOG -and I wanted to put them in mine. It's good to have a reminder and a justification :) to my BLOGGING and why I do it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006

"To you women of today, who are old or young, may I suggest to you that you write, that you keep journals, that you express your thoughts on paper. Writing is a great discipline. It is a tremendous education effort. It will assist you in various ways, and you will bless the lives of many--now and in the years to come, as you put on paper some of your experiences and some of your musings." --President Gordon B. Hinckley

"When our children were very small, I started to write down a few things about what happened every day... The prompting came to me, I'm not giving you these experiences for yourself. Write them down. I recorded those things so that my children could have the memory someday when they would need it. Have I seen the hand of God reaching out to touch us or our children or our family today? I urge you to find ways to recognize God's kindness." --President Henry B. Erying

I love these quotes. I started blogging to keep in touch with friends/family, and to keep a record for myself and my family. It works much better for me than journaling because I am more motivated to do it since I get a few adult moments in my day and can "virtually" interact with other adults!

thank you for the justifications!! We should follow the counsel of our leaders! Do you print your blog off and keep it in a binder?

I haven't printed anything off yet. You can make a book that automatically makes your blog a book at this website.

I haven't done it yet, but have briefly looked at it. You can "slurp" your blog and it puts it in to a book - you will have to kind of change the formatting a little to make it look right, but it looks good. You could also just print it out and put it in a binder - that's a good idea too!
I have been doing it for over a year (off and on) and I think i should print a year at a time in a book, so that's on my to-do list.
