Race Against Child Abuse - 5/1/2010

Well the day for my first 5k finally came - and it snowed the night before and that morning.  I was so worried.  But by the time the race was to start the roads were dry and the sun came out. It ended up being perfect weather for running!

Big Blue came out to support the race - the kids were excited!

We had to get our numbers on and get warmed up for the race!

The whole family ran.  I ran the 5k and the kids and Glen ran the 1 mile run.

After the race...the kids did great! Ally and Isaac ran most of the time and place 4th and 8th in the age group.  Ally bolted ahead at the end to beat Isaac and Glen. :)

The were at the finish line cheering for me! :)

I did pretty well.  I really wanted to run the entire race, but I didn't account for a steep, long hill that we had to run up. Holy cow! So I came in a couple minutes slower than my training.

We all got ribbons! :)  Glen got 2nd in the mile in his age div. and I got 3rd in my race and age div. Pretty Good for our first race experience.

Most of all, we really had a fun day.  The kids had such a good time and that made it even better!
